The Ayurvedic Eating Challenge: Listen to Your Body

After attending the Ayurvedic class today I have a challenge for each of you that our instructor challenged us with in regards to intentional eating...End each meal at the first belch, burp, or slight movement of air in the chest or throat. Finding this signal takes awareness. Most people say they don't belch when eating" Yet almost everyone has discovered they do. This air movement is the Ayurvedic signal that you have had the perfect amount of food. Sitting while eating, chewing thoroughly (chew 20-30 times per bite) only drinking 4 ounces of liquid during your meals and allowing at least 2 1/2 hours between meals will help assist your efforts in mindful eating..
