Unlocking the Hips: Releasing Stored Emotions on the Mat

Yoga asana allows information or situations to bubble up to the surface while we are on the mat. Pay attention to what you are feeling while practicing. We should try to deal with these occurrences rather than ignore them. It is like organizing your closet and throwing out the things that no longer serve you.. If we allow things to build up we can become very irritable or sick from the clutter.



We especially store emotions in our hips. Yoga allows little doors to open to release past hurts or regrets. Embrace hip openers like bound angle pose (baddha konasana) for a good emotion release.
